Crisp Pricing: Crisp Chat Pricing, Plans and Hugo AI Costs
September 26, 2026
Crisp pricing is per workspace, not per seat: $45 a month for Mini, $95 for Essentials and $295 for Plus, with a free plan for 2 seats and a quoted Enterprise tier. Each paid plan includes a set number of seats (4, 10 and 20) and extra agents cost $10 a month each. AI answers from Crisp's Hugo agent draw on monthly AI credits: $5 on Mini (about 90 conversations), $25 on Essentials (about 450) and $75 on Plus (about 1,350).
The plan price is only half the bill if you want AI to answer visitors. Once the included credits run out, Hugo stops replying unless you switch on pay-as-you-go. Below are the list prices, what the AI actually costs per conversation, monthly totals for four real setups, and how that compares with a flat-price AI chatbot. Crisp figures come from crisp.chat/pricing, checked in September 2026. US visitors see prices in dollars; the European page lists the same numbers in euros.
Crisp chat pricing by plan
| Plan | Price per month | Seats included | AI credits included | Notable limits |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 2 | None | 100 customer profiles, basic chat widget and inbox |
| Mini | $45 | 4 | $5 (about 90 AI conversations) | Adds email support, shortcuts and simple automations |
| Essentials | $95 | 10 | $25 (about 450 AI conversations) | Adds knowledge base, more automation and more integrations |
| Plus | $295 | 20 | $75 (about 1,350 AI conversations) | Ticketing, white label (no Crisp watermark), 100+ integrations, 200,000 profiles |
| Enterprise | Quoted | Custom | Custom | SLAs, higher rate limits, sales contract |
Extra agents cost $10 a month each on every paid plan. Crisp also offers yearly billing from the Plans page inside the dashboard, and third-party reviews report a 30% lifetime discount on Essentials and Plus for young startups with under $1M in funding.
Does Crisp have a free plan?
Yes. Crisp has a free plan for 2 seats with a chat widget, a shared inbox and up to 100 customer profiles. It includes no AI credits, so Hugo does not answer visitors on the free tier, and the Crisp watermark stays on the widget. It suits a solo founder answering a handful of chats a week by hand. Once you want automated answers or more than two people on chat, the realistic starting point is Mini at $45 a month.
How much does Crisp Hugo AI cost?
Crisp Hugo AI costs roughly 5.5 cents per automated conversation based on Crisp's own numbers ($5 of credit for about 90 conversations), and independent reviews estimate 5 to 10 cents depending on how long the conversations run. The included credits cover 90 to 1,350 conversations a month depending on the plan. Past that, you pay as you go or Hugo stops answering.
That second point matters more than the rate. If a busy week burns through the credits and pay-as-you-go is off, visitors land in a queue your team may not be watching. If it is on, the bill moves with traffic. Either way, the monthly cost of AI answers on Crisp is not fixed, so set a billing limit and check usage in the first month.
What a real Crisp setup costs each month
These totals use Crisp's list prices and about 5.5 cents for each AI conversation beyond the included credit. If your conversations are longer, use the higher end of the range and the AI line grows.
| Setup | Crisp plan and usage | Estimated Crisp total | InChat plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small store, 3 people, 500 AI conversations a month | Mini $45 (4 seats, about 90 AI conversations) + about 410 pay-as-you-go conversations | About $68 | Starter: $49 for 3 team members and 500 AI conversations |
| SaaS team, 8 people, 2,000 AI conversations, no Crisp watermark | Plus $295 (white label is Plus only, about 1,350 AI conversations) + about 650 more | About $331 | Plus: $149 for 10 team members and 2,000 AI conversations |
| Same team, Crisp watermark acceptable | Essentials $95 (about 450 AI conversations) + about 1,550 more | About $180 | Plus: $149 |
| 25 agents, 5,000 AI conversations | Plus $295 + 5 extra seats $50 + about 3,650 more AI conversations | About $546 | Pro: $499 for unlimited team members and unlimited AI conversations |
The pattern is worth noticing. At small scale Crisp's plan price looks close to ours, and at large scale the totals meet again. The biggest gap sits in the middle, where a team wants a few thousand AI answers and no third-party branding, because white label and ticketing are held back for the $295 Plus plan.
Is Crisp cheaper than Intercom?
Yes, Crisp is much cheaper than Intercom for most small teams. Intercom charges $29 to $132 per seat a month on annual billing plus $0.99 for every issue its Fin AI agent resolves, so 3 seats and 500 AI resolutions come to about $582 a month. On Crisp, the same load is roughly $68 on Mini. Intercom's advantage is depth: product tours, mobile SDKs and mature ticketing. Our Intercom Fin pricing breakdown shows that math at four volumes.
Is Crisp cheaper than Tidio?
For AI answers at volume, usually yes. Tidio's Lyro AI add-on starts at $39 a month for 50 AI conversations, while Crisp Essentials includes about 450 for $95 along with 10 seats. For human-only chat, Tidio's $29 Starter costs less than Crisp Mini at $45, although Crisp's free plan covers 2 seats at no cost. Our Tidio pricing breakdown has the full add-on math.
Is Crisp worth it for a small business?
Crisp is worth it for a small business that answers most chats by hand and wants several channels in one inbox at a workspace price. The $10 extra seat is one of the cheapest in the category. It is less of a bargain when AI answers carry the load, because the included credits are small and every extra AI conversation is billed on top.
A quick test before you buy: count last month's chats, estimate how many were repeat questions about shipping, pricing, setup or policies, and price that number as AI conversations. If it is under 90, Mini covers it. If it is several hundred or more, compare the total with a plan that includes AI conversations in the price. If most of your chats land with people rather than the bot, it can also help to route each incoming request to the right person automatically so no conversation waits in a shared queue.
Where Crisp is the better choice
Crisp has real strengths and we would rather you choose once. Its free plan is genuinely usable for a two person team doing human chat. Workspace pricing with $10 seats is friendly to growing teams. Plus includes ticketing, a white-label widget and more than 100 integrations, and the startup discount makes it cheaper still for early companies. If those matter more than AI volume, Crisp is a sound pick.
Crisp pricing vs a flat-price AI chatbot
InChat trains an AI agent on your website, docs and FAQ, answers visitors 24/7 and hands the chat to your team with the full transcript when a person is needed. AI conversations are part of the plan, not a credit balance: 500 a month on Starter ($49, or $24 billed yearly), 2,000 on Plus ($149, or $74 yearly) and unlimited on Pro ($499, or $249 yearly). Every plan includes human handoff, proactive triggers and your own widget branding. See every plan on our AI chatbot pricing page.
If you are shortlisting several tools, our LiveChat alternative and Tidio alternative pages run the same cost comparison, and the fastest check of all is the box above: paste your URL and ask the agent the questions your customers ask most.
