CustomGPT Pricing Plans From $99 and CustomGPT Query Limits

October 19, 2026

Answers from your own pages, human handoff, one line of JavaScript. Plans from $49/mo with AI conversations included.

CustomGPT pricing has two published plans: Standard at $99 a month ($89 billed yearly) with 1,000 queries, 10 agents and 3 team members, and Premium at $499 a month ($449 billed yearly) with 5,000 queries, 25 agents and 5 team members. Enterprise is quoted by sales. There is no free plan, only a 7-day trial on each paid tier that needs a credit card.

The number that decides your bill is the query count. Every chat message uses one query credit, agentic actions such as Lead Capture use more, and when the monthly pool is gone the agents stop answering. Below are the plans, the add-on prices, how many real conversations each plan covers, and monthly totals for four common setups. Several third-party pages still quote older CustomGPT limits, so every figure here comes from customgpt.ai/pricing, checked in October 2026, in US dollars.

Standard includes RAG API access, a direct sitemap import and connectors such as WordPress, Wix, YouTube and HubSpot Knowledge Base. Premium adds auto-sync of website content and removal of the Powered by CustomGPT.ai branding, plus 2,500 image citations a month instead of 500. Standard and Premium are paid by credit card; Enterprise can also pay by wire transfer or ACH.

How much does CustomGPT cost per month?

For a business website, a realistic CustomGPT bill runs from $99 to $499 a month, and up to about $875 once you add query packs. Standard at $99 fits a site with up to roughly 250 chats a month that is happy to keep the CustomGPT badge. The moment you want your own branding on the widget, the starting point is Premium at $499.

Yearly billing takes 10% off, which saves $120 a year on Standard and $600 a year on Premium. Add-ons are billed at the same rate either way.

CustomGPT add-on prices

Add-ons start working immediately and are charged with your plan. CustomGPT does not sell single queries; you buy blocks:

Add-onWhat you getPrice
Extra queries2,500 queries a month$375 a month
Extra word storage300 million words$300 a month
Extra documents100,000 documents a month$100 a month
Extra agents25 agents$100 a month
Extra seats5 team seats$100 a month

The query pack is the one website teams end up buying. At $375 for 2,500 queries it works out to 15 cents a query, which is more than the 9.9 cents a query you pay inside the Standard plan and the 10 cents inside Premium. So if you need the pack every month, moving up a plan is usually cheaper.

How do CustomGPT query credits work?

A CustomGPT query credit pays for one chat message. A regular message uses one credit, while agentic actions such as Lead Capture use additional credits depending on your plan. The credits are counted at the account level, so all of your agents draw from the same monthly pool.

People rarely ask one thing. A shopper asks about shipping, then returns, then whether an item is in stock. A buyer on a services site asks about scope, price and turnaround. Four questions per conversation is a fair average, and that turns the plan limits into conversation counts like this:

Plan or setupQueries a monthConversations at 3 questionsAt 4 questionsAt 6 questions
Standard1,000about 333about 250about 166
Standard plus one query pack3,500about 1,166about 875about 583
Premium5,000about 1,666about 1,250about 833
Premium plus one query pack7,500about 2,500about 1,875about 1,250

If your bot also captures leads, count a little lower again, because those actions use extra credits.

What happens when you run out of CustomGPT queries?

When the monthly query limit is reached, CustomGPT agents stop responding to new queries until the next billing cycle; a query already in progress still completes. To keep answering mid-month you upgrade or buy a 2,500-query pack for $375. Word storage works the same way: at the limit the system stops indexing new content.

For an internal knowledge assistant, a pause is an inconvenience. For a public website it means a buyer types a question during your busiest week and gets nothing back. That is why it pays to size the plan for your peak month, not your average one.

Does CustomGPT have a free trial?

Yes. Standard and Premium each come with a 7-day free trial with full access to that plan's features. A credit card is required at signup, and you are charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel from the billing page with Cancel Subscription. CustomGPT has no free plan, so after the trial the cheapest option is $99 a month.

CustomGPT cost at four real website setups

Here is the monthly bill for four common setups, with monthly billing, 4 questions per conversation and the list prices above. The last column is the same setup on InChat's plans, where the limit is whole AI conversations and your own branding and human handoff are included.

SetupCustomGPT monthly totalInChat monthly total
Small business, about 200 conversations, CustomGPT badge keptStandard $99Starter $49
About 250 conversations, own branding on the widgetPremium $499Starter $49
About 800 conversations, 3 people, badge keptStandard $99 + 2,500 queries $375 = $474Plus $149
About 1,800 conversations, 5 people, own brandingPremium $499 + 2,500 queries $375 = $874Plus $149

The honest reading: CustomGPT is not built to be the cheapest website chatbot, and on a public site with your own branding the gap is $350 to $725 a month. Where it does win is many small bots on one account (10 agents on Standard) and large document archives. We go through the switch step by step, including the cases where you should stay, on our CustomGPT alternative page.

Is CustomGPT worth the money?

CustomGPT is worth the money if you need an AI assistant over a large document library, want a RAG API to build on, or run ten or more separate low-traffic bots under one account. Its storage limits (60 million words on Standard) are far above what a typical business website needs, and that capacity is part of what the $99 pays for.

It is harder to justify for a sales or support chatbot on your own website. You pay per message, the bot goes quiet when the pool is empty, and your branding requires the $499 plan. Developers who mostly want clean website content for their own retrieval pipeline can also turn web pages into LLM-ready data through a scraping API and keep the chat layer separate.

How CustomGPT compares with other chatbot pricing models

Website chatbots price AI in three ways, and it helps to know which one you are buying:

  • Per message queries or credits (CustomGPT, Chatbase, Chatling): the bill follows how much each visitor types, and on some tools which model answers.
  • Per resolution fees (Intercom Fin, see our Intercom Fin pricing guide): you pay when the AI closes a conversation, on top of seats.
  • Per conversation plans (InChat): a fixed number of whole conversations inside the subscription, however long each one runs.

If your traffic is steady, any of the three can work. If it spikes with launches, sales or seasons, the per-conversation plan is the one that keeps the invoice flat and the bot answering.

How to try InChat on your own site

Paste your website URL into the tool at the top of this page and InChat trains an agent on your public pages, help articles and PDFs in a few minutes. Ask it the questions your customers ask most, check the sources it cites and compare the answers with your CustomGPT agent. The one-time demo includes 50 AI conversations, so you can judge the answers on your own content before you choose a plan.
