LiveChat Pricing: LiveChat Cost Per Agent and AI Agent Fees
September 27, 2026
LiveChat pricing is per agent: $25 a month on Starter, $59 on Team and $89 on Business with monthly billing, or $19, $49 and $79 per agent billed yearly. Starter is limited to one user with 60 days of chat history, and Enterprise is quoted. The AI Copilot that drafts replies for agents is included, but an AI agent that answers visitors on its own is sold separately as Text (also listed as ChatBot), from $25 a user a month for 10 AI resolutions.
That split is why LiveChat quotes and LiveChat invoices look so different. Below are the list prices, what the AI agent adds, monthly totals for four real setups, and how it compares with a flat-price AI chatbot. LiveChat figures come from livechat.com/pricing and the AI agent figures from text.com/pricing and chatbot.com/pricing, all checked in September 2026.
LiveChat pricing by plan
| Plan | Monthly billing | Billed yearly | Users | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $25 per agent | $19 per agent | 1 | Chat widget, 60-day chat history, track 100 visitors, 1 recurring campaign, Copilot reply suggestions |
| Team | $59 per agent | $49 per agent | Unlimited, each paid | Unlimited chat history, full widget customization, 400 tracked visitors, unlimited campaigns, basic reporting, chat summaries |
| Business | $89 per agent | $79 per agent | Unlimited, each paid | Advanced reporting, 1,000 tracked visitors, work scheduler, staffing prediction, SMS and Apple Messages |
| Enterprise | Quoted | Quoted | Custom | White-label widget, SSO, HIPAA support, SLAs, dedicated onboarding |
Every plan comes with a 14-day trial that needs no credit card. The price stays the same no matter how many websites you install the widget on, so the real driver of the bill is headcount.
How much does LiveChat cost per month?
LiveChat costs $25 a month for one agent on Starter, or $59 per agent on Team, which is the plan most teams of two or more end up on. Three agents on Team cost $177 a month with monthly billing or $147 billed yearly. Ten agents on Business cost $890 a month, or $790 billed yearly, before any AI agent.
The $19 figure on the pricing page is real, but it is the yearly price of a single-user plan. As soon as a second person needs to answer chats, you move to Team, and the per-agent price more than doubles.
Does LiveChat have a free plan?
No. LiveChat has no free plan. It offers a 14-day free trial of the paid plans with no credit card required, after which the cheapest option is Starter at $25 a month, or $19 a month billed yearly, for a single agent. Teams that need a permanent free tier usually look at tools such as Crisp or Tidio instead.
How much does the LiveChat AI agent cost?
The LiveChat AI agent is a separate subscription. Text Essential costs $25 per user a month ($19 billed yearly) and includes 10 AI resolutions a month. Growth costs $99 per user ($79 yearly) and includes 200. Extra resolutions come in packs of 50 for $49.50, which works out to $0.99 for each conversation the AI resolves.
LiveChat's included Copilot is useful, but it is a helper for human agents: it suggests replies, summarizes chats and cleans up text. It does not answer the visitor while nobody is online. If you want the bot to take shipping, pricing and setup questions at 2 a.m., budget for the AI agent product on top of your seats.
What a real LiveChat setup costs each month
These totals use monthly list prices, one AI agent user, and $49.50 packs for resolutions beyond the plan allowance. Yearly billing lowers the LiveChat figures by roughly 15 to 25 percent, and a team at the top of this table would likely negotiate an Enterprise quote.
| Setup | LiveChat seats + AI agent | Estimated LiveChat total | InChat plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 person, human chat only | Starter $25 | $25 | Starter $49 (3 team members, 500 AI conversations) |
| 3 agents, 200 AI answers a month | Team 3 x $59 = $177 + Growth $99 | $276 | Starter $49 |
| 3 agents, 500 AI answers a month | Team $177 + Growth $99 + 6 packs of 50 ($297) | $573 | Starter $49 |
| 10 agents, 2,000 AI answers a month | Business 10 x $89 = $890 + Growth $99 + 36 packs ($1,782) | $2,771 | Plus $149 (10 team members, 2,000 AI conversations) |
The first row is where LiveChat wins, and it is not close: a solo operator answering chats by hand pays about half what our cheapest plan costs. The gap opens the moment you add people and ask the software to answer, because both the seats and the AI resolutions are metered.
Is LiveChat worth the money?
LiveChat is worth it for teams where people answer most chats and need a polished agent app, detailed visitor tracking, staffing tools and a large integration marketplace. It is harder to justify when most chats are repeat questions, because you pay per agent for humans to answer them and then pay again, per resolution, for the AI to take them over.
A quick way to decide: pull last month's chat count, estimate the share that were questions your website already answers (order status, shipping times, pricing, setup, returns), and price that number at $0.99 each. If that line is larger than your seat bill, the per-resolution model is the expensive part of your support stack. If most of your support cost sits in the work behind the chat, such as onboarding, billing changes and account paperwork, that is a customer experience operations problem worth fixing separately from the chat tool.
LiveChat pricing vs Tidio and Crisp
LiveChat is the most expensive of the three for a small team, because it charges per agent while Tidio and Crisp charge per workspace or per conversation volume. Tidio starts at $29 a month with a 10 seat cap on its lower plans and sells its Lyro AI as an add-on from $39 for 50 AI conversations. Crisp charges $45, $95 or $295 per workspace with 4, 10 or 20 seats included and pays for AI with monthly credits. Our Tidio pricing breakdown and Crisp pricing guide run the same setup totals for those tools.
Where LiveChat is the better choice
LiveChat is a mature product and we would rather you choose once. It is the better buy for a single agent doing human chat, since $19 a month billed yearly is less than any InChat plan. It also leads on the agent experience: fast desktop and mobile apps, visitor tracking, a work scheduler and staffing prediction on Business, SMS and Apple Messages, and hundreds of marketplace integrations. If your support model is people first, those features earn the seat price.
LiveChat pricing vs a flat-price AI chatbot
InChat trains an AI agent on your website, docs and FAQ, answers visitors around the clock and hands the chat to your team with the full transcript when a person is needed. The team and the AI are in one plan: Starter is $49 a month ($24 billed yearly) for 3 team members and 500 AI conversations, Plus is $149 ($74 yearly) for 10 team members and 2,000, and Pro is $499 ($249 yearly) for unlimited people and conversations. See every plan on our AI chatbot pricing page.
